Bhutadayaa

The Incognito Art Show is a non-profit that sells artworks for $100. The artist remains anonymous until the work is purchased.

For the 2024 Incognito Art Show I gave two pieces that weren’t primarily visual art. If you bought one of my canvases, you became the owner of a song that no one other than me has ever heard. The password on the back of the canvas allowed the new owner to download and take over all rights. I also asked the new owner to contact me if they wanted me to share with the rest of the world.

Both my pieces sold. Only one person contacted me. They decided to name their new track Bhutadayaa and let me share online. They explained about the name: It’s Sanskrit for universal benevolence/compassion for all living beings.

Awesomely, the new owner was an artist that incorporated the track into their work. Bhutadayaa featured in an art bomb at the 2024 Venice Biennale.
