Moto Guzzi V7
2013–ongoing
I’ve been modifying this Moto Guzzi V7 since I bought it new in 2013. While it is my daily rider, it’s also an interesting canvas to build and iterate upon and learn basic mechanics. The pics above are from its most interesting incarnation (thus far).
The centrepiece is a hand-laid fibreglass fairing cast from a vintage 1970s Kawasaki H1R mold by Brian Crane, a retired fibreglasser whose shed is filled with Cobra car bodies, boats, and motorcycle molds dating back to the Australian cult film Stone. Custom brackets were CNC-machined by Darren at DNA Customs to fit the Guzzi’s wider engine heads, with an off-centre mounted R1 headlamp.
