Tlön Encyclopaedia Volume XI

In Borges’ story Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius, the narrator discovers Volume XI of A First Encyclopaedia of Tlön, covering entries from Hlaer to Jangr. The supposed volume describes an imaginary world in exhaustive detail, yet the book itself does not exist.

This is now that book. I wrote dozens of entries on the metaphysics, zoology, history, politics and daily life of Tlön, complete with illustrations. As a reference volume for a world that doesn’t exist, it is not meant to be read front to back, although you could. It is intended to function as a source of wonder, and maybe creative inspiration. Handbound into an edition of two.
